CCK Hosts 15th Annual Mid-America Cancer Symposium

The Cancer Center of Kansas, together in partnership with McKesson Specialty Health, recently hosted its 15th annual Mid-America Cancer Symposium on August 12th-13th at the Wichita Hyatt Regency. The event welcomed more than 108 highly regarded cancer physicians, 222 pharmaceutical company professionals, and audiences from all over the mid-west to Wichita. This program is designed for providers who treat cancer patients, which includes medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgeons, internists, pathologists and other specialists in Kansas and neighboring states wanting to learn about the latest innovations in the field.  The event also provides them an opportunity to discuss amongst one another their strategies for treating patients. This year, these updates were presented by leading industry professionals which included Dr. Joseph McGuirk on CAR T-Cell Therapies, Dr. Edith Perez on breast cancer, and Dr. Lawrence Einhorn on lung cancer.

President, Dr. Shaker Dakhil said, “This is a great way to transfer knowledge among peers, and is an example of our dedication to ensuring the latest and best treatment is right here in our local community.” CCK is honored to continue to support and showcase the state of Kansas as a leader in education and promotion of cancer innovation and research by creating and continuing to keep the event in Kansas for years to come.
