Abe has been a core member of the administrative team at the Cancer Center of Kansas (CCK) for nearly 30 years most recently as our Chief Operating Officer. Now he is using his unique experience and bringing his vast knowledge of pharmaceuticals to serve as the Director of Pharmaceutical Relations.
Born and raised in India, Abe graduated with a Masters in Arts (MA) degree in English Literature before moving to the United States in 1985. He immediately began his long career in the health care industry by becoming a manager at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. He then earned his masters of business administration (MBA) degree and masters in hospital administration (MHA) from the University of Oklahoma and became the administrator for a physician practice in Edmond, OK. He moved to Wichita, KS to join the CCK team in 1994 and over the years has garnered great respect from a variety of healthcare professionals throughout the country in the area of medical oncology and hematology. He has been a member of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) for 20 years.
With his over 25 years of experience in administration of hospital and physician practices, he has been a significant contributor to the growth and success of CCK, leading the practice in the areas of business negotiation, planning and development, and navigating and adapting to the challenging world of pharmaceuticals unique to medical oncology and hematology. In 2020, he was selected by the Wichita Business Journal as an honoree for their Excellence in Health Care – Administration award which focuses on administrative excellence in the local health care field.
