Christopher S.R. Dakhil, MD, FACP
Medical Oncologist / HematologistDr. Chris Dakhil, a Wichita native, obtained his medical degree from the University of Kansas – Kansas City. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Kansas between 2006 and 2009, during which time he was named Intern of the Year after completion of his first year.
Dr. Dakhil then completed a three-year fellowship in Hematology/Oncology from 2009 to 2012 at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where he served as Chief Fellow in his final year. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Hematology. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, the American College of Physicians, and the American Medical Association. Dr. Dakhil is dedicated to clinical research and previously served as a Principal Investigator of the Wichita NCI Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP), a National Cancer Institute sponsored research program.
Dr. Dakhil joined the Cancer Center of Kansas in 2012 and looks forward to continuing the legacy of quality cancer care at CCK, both in Wichita and around his home state. As part of being committed to our community, Dr. Dakhil currently serves on the Board of Directors for the local Victory in the Valley non-profit whose mission is to encourage cancer patients and families on their journey through numerous support services. In addition, he is a member-at-large in numerous oncology-related professional societies, and he has earned distinction with the Fellowship of the American College of Physicians. He currently serves as the President of the Kansas Society of Clinical Oncology. In addition to formal roles, like all of our physicians, you will often find him mentoring a medical student, as he loves to pass along his knowledge and experience to others coming behind him. Most recently, in 2020 Dr. Dakhil was selected as a Health Care Hero in the Physician category, awarded by the Wichita Business Journal.
